After a record-breaking three years with the University of Toledo baseball team, Garret Pike is making the move to a Power 4 program.

The Rockets’ star center fielder, who broke UT’s single-season and career home run records during his junior campaign, announced Tuesday he will transfer to the University of Louisville. He previously was expected to enter the MLB Draft this summer, with Baseball America ranking him as the No. 213 overall prospect last month.

Pike hit .360 with 21 home runs, 55 runs batted in, and 13 stolen bases for the Toledo this past season.

Defensively, he registered 130 putouts and two assists with just one error.

He earned All-Mid-American Conference First Team honors and was named an ABCA/Rawlings Third-Team All-American.

The Waterville native and Anthony Wayne High School grad will continue his college career in the Atlantic Coast Conference, which this year sent four teams to the ongoing Men’s College World Series in Omaha.
